Wild Card Race Predictions

With just one week (and two games) left in the NFL regular season, the playoffs are really starting to shape up. With just a few spots still up for grabs, here are my picks for who will be in and who will be out.

AFC Race

In the AFC there are just two spots up for grabs, and one is very simple. The Colts will travel to Tennessee to face the Titans and decide one spot. The winner of the game will clinch the wild card and if the Texans lose, the division. Both teams enter the matchup very hot before today the Texans, Titans, and Colts had not lost a game out of the division since week seven. In the end, I believe the better QB will prevail and Andrew Luck will be able to lead a battle-tested Colts to the playoffs. Luck is a perfect 10-0 vs Tennessee and I do not think the Titans have developed any answers for him this season. Darius Leonard and the Colts run defense has bottled Zeke and Barkley back to back weeks and should handle Henry. Prediction: Colts 31 Titans 21

The other spot up for grabs is the AFC North. For the Ravens it is simple, win and in. If they fall to the Browns, the Steelers can get in with a win against the Bengals. In a shocker, I believe the Browns will upset the Ravens and Steelers will get in the playoffs. The Ravens defense has been incredible, but the Browns has been as well and should do a great job with Myles Garrett containing Lamar Jackson. The Browns have won 5/6 since firing Hue Jackson and are as dangerous as any team, the Ravens might be the hot talk of the league, but the Browns have nothing to lose and a very good football team. At the end of this game, the people of Pittsburgh might be thanking the Browns. Prediction Ravens lose 17-16 and Steelers win 31-14

NFC Race

In the NFC the whole spots up for grabs are the two wildcards. The Seahawks just need to win one of their two games against Chiefs and Cardinals. They will beat the Cardinals and make the playoffs it’s that simple. Seattle will be in the playoffs.

The other spot will come down to Eagles and Vikings. The Vikings just have to win, but a loss opens the door for the Eagles if they can win in Washington. The Eagles finally seem to be playing quality football, but it will be just to late, as the Vikings are 5-2 at home, and have re-found a run game since letting Zimmer getting more focused on the offense. The Bears have been great this year, but in Minnesota, they just won’t have enough to finish the job. Prediction Vikings 23 Bears 14
