My Top 5 Blocks in NBA History

5.) Dwyane Wade blocks Amar’e Stoudemire

This block by Dwyane Wade was absolutely incredible, but what immediately followed it might have been better.  Wade rips down Stoudemire’s shot with about 2 seconds left in the 3rd quarter then drills a buzzer beater from behind half court.  One of the wildest plays I have ever seen.

4.) Nate Robinson blocks Yao Ming

5’9″ Nate Robinson uses all of his 43.5″ vertical to block 7’6″ Yao Ming.  One of the tallest players in NBA history getting blocked by one of the shortest is obviously going to make the list.  Ming is so embarrassed that he fakes an eye injury immediately afterward (ignore him getting hit in the face on Robinson’s follow through).

3.) Dwight Howard blocks Ty Lawson

There is a litany of Dwight Howard blocks that could be put in here, but the disrespect of Howard to let Lawson drive past him before he blocks it really makes it for me.  Another reason this is great is that you could make a case that Howard should be arrested for launching a potentially deadly projectile into the crowd.

2.) Shannon Brown blocks Mario West

This may have been called a foul, but I do not care in the slightest.  Brown chasing down West and just takes the ball away from him.  I almost don’t know what to say about this because it was so wild.  This block also caused one of the best bench reactions in NBA history.

1.) LeBron James blocks Andre Iguodala

THE Block.  ‘Nuff said.
