I admittedly don’t know much about the Premier League, but refusing to leave the field of play against your manager’s wishes seems… bold?
Chelsea’s goalie, Kepa Arrizabalaga, did exactly that in the waning minutes of Extra Time in the club’s match against Manchester City on Sunday.
To pull a move like this, you better be damn sure you’re going to come out on top. So surely Kepa ended up coming up huge in penalties and his club won, right?
Not a good look there Kepa.
Not sure if this reflects worse on the player who is clearly insubordinate to authority, or the manager, or Maurizio Sarri for bending his knee to the player’s decision to stay on the field.
Either way, it makes for a pretty entertaining end to a match.
