Stealing 1st Base?

Recently the Atlantic League, which is an independent baseball league (not affiliated with any major league team), introduced a rule that players can “steal” 1st base. The new rule states, “Batters may “steal” first base on any pitch not caught in flight (the batter can be thrown out if he attempts to run.)”

A lot of people have complained about this rule, but I think this rule is awesome. It adds another dimension to the game that I love. It adds pressure to the pitcher and catcher, especially in tight games.

Someone has already stolen a base under this new rule

I hope the MLB adopts this new rule soon.
