If you happen to be a die-hard Cleveland sports fan, or a sports fan in general, you’re aware of the hype that’s building in Cleveland. The Browns are being bet on to win the Super Bowl by some (never thought I’d see the day,) and the Indians are entering the final stretch of the season and looking to push deep into October baseball. But the standard has been set heading into the fall for Cleveland.
This past weekend Stipe Miocic set the tone of what’s to be expected by the Browns and Indians later this fall.
Miocic came out this past weekend looking to reclaim his UFC heavyweight title belt previously held by Daniel Cormier.
Miocic won the bout via 4th round TKO, taking his revenge for his previous loss against Cormier, and claiming the UFC heavyweight championship at UFC 241.
If the Browns and Indians weren’t getting Cleveland riled up enough this sure did the trick. With social media post from the likes of Baker Mayfield and other notable Clevelanders, it was clear the entire city was behind Miocic.
And if this isn’t exciting enough, the first time Miocic won the belt was coincidentally the year LeBron James and the Cavs brought Cleveland their first ring in 52 years.
Will history repeat itself? I guess we’ll find out.
