Picture having the game Hurts had, 500 yards and 6 TD’s, and giving this interview immediately afterward. Jalen Hurts couldn’t have been less impressed with himself, and I absolutely love it.
That’s a dude who has seen the peak of success, has been engulfed in what it means to focus on the task at hand, and is NOT satisfied with a dazzling week 1 performance.
Maybe the most dangerous thing, and the thing that might put OU over the hump this year and get them their first CFP semifinal victory, and potentially more, is having a Nick Saban-bred Quarterback playing in Lincoln Riley’s system.
That combination of cool-headed demeanor, boatloads of talent, and his obvious determination to take this Oklahoma team to the summit of college football, might be the recipe for success.
Who can say for sure, but one thing is for damn sure:
Jalen Hurts wants blood.
